Ok, is the time stamp for this post 5:41 PM EST?

  • Nope, it didn't. I have changed setTimeZone back to -4.

Yesterday version 1.57 of Fargo was released that may have addressed the apparent daylight savings time problem I was poking at yesterday. If the release fixed the problem, this post should have a time stamp of 5:40 PM EST.

  • That did not fix the problem. Out of curiosity, I commented out the setTimeZone directive, let's see what time stamp we get.

After changing to "-6" the post was another hour behind EST. I then changed it to "-4". After making this change the post time was correct.

The previous post was one hour behind the time that I expected. I changed siteTimeZone from "-5" to "-6" and created this post.

Here I am doing a quick test of the siteTimeZone directive to confirm it is working as expected.

Two recent updates to Fargo have improved the integration with WordPress. The first update enables one to import an entire site to an outline that you can then edit with Fargo. The second update provides an outline override so that you can associate outlines to different WordPress blogs. If you use WordPress.com to host multiple blogs, you can associate an outline to each one, and store your WordPress.com credentials in the global Settings panel.

I first tried this feature using my "original" blog, Notes From The Cave, and did not get the expected results. Not all of the site's posts were imported, and a few posts were skipped. I posted a report on the Fargo2 distribution list.

Next, I imported RealPersonalComputing.com and this time it appears the entire site imported. I reported this finding on the Fargo2 distribution list. Finally, I added a new post to RealPersonalComputing and it saved to WordPress as expected.

Here is an example

  • Three items:

      1. Item one
      1. Item two
      1. Item three
